2020 NFL Draft Big Board

EDGE (#1)

College

Height

Ohio State

6'5

1. Chase Young

The consensus #1 player in the class - absolutely stands out on tape and has the numbers to back it up (16.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles). Very quick and incredible use of hands allowing him to control blockers making him an elite pass rusher. Uses a variety of moves to cause havoc behind the line of scrimmage. Not as good against the run although still does well. He could possibly add strength and disguise when he is not rushing better - but really his flaws are at a minimum. I fully expect him to be a perennial pro-bowler early in his career and DPOY candidate.

LB (#1)

College

Clemson

2. Isaiah Simmons

Simmons is a freak athlete who can play anywhere in the defense. Such is his speed and instincts that a team could play a man down and Simmons would make up for it. His versatility allows him to be put in coverage, rushing the quarterback or stopping the run. He is a great tackler with smooth footwork and toughness. He could be better at block shedding and could add some strength. The ceiling is sky-high. There are some concerns of where his floor is and if he will translate to the NFL.

CB (#1)

3. Jeffrey Okudah

Okudah is the complete package of everything you want in a corner. His feet are unbelieviably quick and smooth making him a very fluid athlete. Has the ability in man and zone while having ideal size. The combine wasn't amazing but that should not matter - he will be a perennial pro-bowler with all-pro potential before his rookie contract is done.

QB (#1)

College

4. Joe Burrow

Burrow had a practically flawless 2019 season winning the Heisman and 'ship. He set the record for most passing touchdowns with 60 tds and only 6 ints. Makes great decisions, is very accurate while being incredibly smart and composed in the pocket. While his tape in 2019 looks near perfect, he has limitations. Arm strength concerns and questions whether he just had one great year are present. I wouldn't necessarily lock him in for NFL success (especially if he goes to Cincy), but it's hard not to fall in love with his tape.

WR (#1)

5. CeeDee Lamb

My #1 receiver in a stacked class - CeeDee is superb after the catch. Can run routes, separate and track the ball. He has 25 touchdowns over his last two seasons as Oklahoma's #1 receiver. He consistently wins battles through contact with very safe hands. An added bonus is his blocking ability. The big knock on Lamb is his speed which limits his ability as a deep threat against faster DB's.

WR (#2)

College

6. Jerry Jeudy

Jeudy has elite route-running ability not matched by any other prospect in this class. He uses sudden cuts, quick release and instincts to separate from top corners. Add to this speed, body control and leaping ability makes opposing teams have to plan around him. Cons include his frame and his contested-catch ability (because his seperation ability has reduced his experience in this area). Jeudy and Lamb are really both 1a 1b as both should be #1 receivers at the next level.

7. Grant Delpit

I am a big fan of Delpit and I understand I have him higher than everyone else but the positives outweigh his negatives. He is an animal in the middle of the field with instincts comparable to Tyrann Mathieu. He has good size, good coverage skills and a hard hitter. His ability to navigate congested areas of the field aid his run-stopping ability.  The missed tackles are the first accusation of Delpit which naturally stands out on the tape. I think he was affected by LSU moving him around so much and blowing out teams. Nonetheless, I believe he can be a top class safety.

8. Javon Kinlaw

Big fan of Kinlaw and my #1 D-lineman in the draft (over Brown). He is as dangerous and disruptive as they come and absolutely stands out on tape. He is explosive, creates leverage and uses his lower-body well. The reason I have Kinlaw over Brown is due to his greater threat as a pass-rusher, which is more rare and thus valuable as a top pick. I'd rather great pass-rushing and solid run-defending out of my top pick than the opposite. His motor and awareness can be lacking which could prevent him from becoming a top DT.

LB (#1)

College

Height

Oklahoma

9. Kenneth Murray

Murray has a little bit of everything in his play. His reading of plays and closing speed make him a good run defender accentuated by the fact he is a powerful and consistent tackler. He also has the ability to drop in coverage in both man and zone and can fit in a 4-3 and 3-4. His instincts can catch him out which will be exposed if not fixed at the NFL level. For me, he is the best LB in this class after the athletic freak that is Isaiah Simmons.

IDL (#2)

College

Height

Auburn

6'5"

10. Derrick Brown

Derrick Brown is a highly rated IDL stud with some having him as a top-3 player in this class. He is a very strong, physical player that dominates offensive lines with his hands and speed. He is the definition of a run stopper and a black-hole on the defensive front. He has pro-bowl potential - I just wonder if he has the ability to get sacks at a high enough level.

Draft Age

318 lbs

QB (#1)

College

Height

Alabama

6'2"

11. Tua Tagovailoa

A hard player to rank on this board - on talent, he probably is the best QB in the class and one could argue the best prospect. He is accurate, mobile and has good arm strength. But will his injuries prevent him from reaching his potential? Recent pro-day footage looked promising and while he probably won't really play in the first-year, if the hip-injury doesn't restrain him to much, he could be the face of a franchise.

OT (#1)

College

Height

Alabama

6'5"

12. Jedrick Wills

I have had Wills as my #1 OT for a long time now but I will admit, as watching more tape I have lessened on him a bit. Regardless, for now he is still I think the best tackle in the class with consistent technique and posture allowing him to stop many tough SEC rushers. A great athlete, he has quick feet that allows him to react quickly to attackers' moves. He might not have the highest ceiling of the tackles and Alabama's players' reputation of failing at the NFL level might scare off teams but I'd be happy to have him if I was GM.

Draft Age

Weight

21.0

320 lbs

WR (#3)

College

Height

Alabama

6'0"

13. Henry Ruggs III

Elite speed. Absolute elite speed. Naturally compared to Desean Jackson and John Ross - he's a home run player that stilll has the strength to fight through contact. He won't make the contested catch but naturally his seperating ability doesn't make this too much of a problem. I do worry if a speedster should go so high - though of course it's worth it if he becomes Tyreek Hill.

Draft Age

Weight

21.3

190 lbs

OT (#2)

College

Height

Iowa

6'5"

14. Tristan Wirfs

Wirfs has a higher ceiling than Wills but a lower floor. He was an absolute stand out at the combine, has great size and is quick out of his stance. His technique can be questionable sometimes and a change of rushes can confuse him. He may need some development but a good OL coach could see him reach his potential. Could be a long-term guard.

Draft Age

Weight

322 lbs

S (#2)

College

Height

Alabama

6'1"

15. Xavier McKinney

McKinney has great instincts and covers a lot of ground. He can cover a variety of matchups and has proved himself against top talent. He doesn't have great size and isn't the strongest tackler. McKinney has the exact skills to translate to the NFL.

Draft Age

20.7

200 lbs

EDGE (#2)

College

Height

LSU

6'4"

16. K'Lavon Chaisson

Chaisson's speed is the first thing to stand out on tape. He is disruptive while is able to drop in pass coverage better than most edge players. His weight makes one question how he will translate to the NFL - especially in a 4-3 scheme. On top of this he has injury concerns. However, if he can get in the right scheme, especially where he gets in 1-on-1 sitituations, he can contribute right away.

Draft Age

Weight

20.8

250 lbs

CB (#2)

College

Height

Florida

6'1"

17. CJ Henderson

Henderson has great size for an NFL corner and, matched with his speed, allows him to cover bigger bodied receivers in addition to down the field speed threats. He recognizes routes well. Reminds me of Greedy Williams (though I like CJ more) due to his big flaw being poor tackling.

Draft Age

Weight

21.6

202 lbs

EDGE (#3)

College

Height

iowa

6'6"

18. AJ Epenesa

I find Epenesa a bit of a tough one to judge - his excelled numbers and performance wise in 2019 - totaling 11.5 sacks and 49 tackles along with 4 forced fumbles. However, his poor combine performance may potentially see him fall. He needs to polish his game but has the physical tools and speed/power mix to work in the NFL.

Draft Age

Weight

21.6

280 lbs

RB (#1)

College

Height

Wisconsin

5'11"

19. Jonathan Taylor

Like Lamb and Jeudy, I see Jonathan Taylor and D'Andre Swift as 1a 1b type players. Though it doesn't really matter, as I believe both will succeed in the NFL, I give the edge to Taylor due to his amazing combine. He ran for over 2k yds in 2019 and had 26 total touchdowns showing ability as a pass catcher out of the backfield. His biggest worry is fumbling with 18 in his career. Team needs will be the only reason he falls into the second round.

Draft Age

Weight

21.3

219 lbs

OT (#4)

College

Height

Georgia

6'5"

20. Andrew Thomas

Thomas was once a top 2 player in this draft but has fallen over the last few months. He contributes well in the pass game while still being strong in the run game. His footwork leaves more to be desired.

Draft Age

Weight

21.3

320 lbs

OT (#5)

College

Height

Louisville

6'7"

21.  Mekhi Becton

A massive unit whose ability to move simply does not make sense at that size. The freak of an athlete went from one of the most underrated talents in the class to a potential top 10 pick. I have him as my #4 OT as, despite his size, it is concerning he does not overpower rushers. He lacks the technique to succeed right now against the world-class pass rushers he will come up against... If he improves this, he can do well. High ceiling lower floor type guy.

Draft Age

Weight

21.6

369 lbs

RB (#2)

College

Height

Georgia

5'9"

22. D'Andre Swift

The other premier rb in this class (who I have had as the best at times), Swift has great vision, cutting ability and skill set. He projects to be a three-down starter drawing comparisons to Kamara and Cook. His raw numbers are quite lower than Taylor's.

Draft Age

Weight

21.3

215 lbs

LB (#3)

College

Height

LSU

6'1"

23. Patrick Queen

I liked what I saw of Patrick Queen in the final games of his LSU season. He has good in zone coverage - very useful in covering out of the backfield and tight end threats. His vision allows him to read runs in various sets. While he is a raw project, I think he can fit in with most teams regardless of their LB situation.

Draft Age

Weight

20.7

227 lbs

S (#3)

College

Height

California

6'1"

24. Ashtyn Davis

Davis is a good tackler in the open field and projects to be someone who racks up tackles for players who slip through. He is a fluid player who can play tight or loose in man coverage. He has good and lacking aspects to most skills.

Draft Age

Weight

23.6

195 lbs

QB (#3)

College

Height

Utah State

6'4"

25. Jordan Love

Love is a polarizing prospect - some think he is overrated; some - underrated. His numbers look better in 2018 than 2019 with a higher %, more tds, less ints and more yds. His ceiling is very high with a strong arm, pocket presence and finesse. His floor, however, is quite low making him a prime bust candidate (especially if taken too high). He has poor field vision and made questionable decisions. He is what I would call a "I-Told-You-So Prospect" by which I mean, if he becomes a MVP candidate, you will get a lot of people saying 'I told you so', and the same happening if he is out of the league in 3 years.

Draft Age

Weight

223 lbs

S (#4)

College

Height

Minnesota

5'10"

26. Antoine Winfield Jr.

Winfield ballhawk ability reminds me of Donte Whitner as he totalled 7 ints in 2019. He is a willing tackler and has shown an ability to get to the QB. A very smart player who can operate in a wide variety of roles though his lack of range may hurt his upside.

Draft Age

Weight

21.7

195 lbs

WR (#4)

College

Height

LSU

6'3"

27. Justin Jefferson

Jefferson is a bigger bodied slot who has a good mix of quickness and athleticism seeing him putting up big numbers at LSU. He is a pretty good route runner - especially on short plays - and combines this with RAC ability. Longer routes and release leaves something to be desired. He projects to be a Tyler Boyd in the NFL.

IDL (#3)

College

Texas A&M

6'3"

28. Justin Madubuike

I'm a big fan of Madubuike which is why I have him higher than most people (I would take him 1st rd though I expect he goes day 2). He recorded 5.5 sacks and 11.5 tfl. He is a disruptive presence who is one of the most explosive D tackles in the class. Character and length concerns may seem him fall but some of his moves are simply rare and worth a first round pick.

Draft Age

22.4

304 lbs

Edge (#4)

College

Height

Penn State

6'5"

29. Yetur Gross-Matos

Yetur impressed in 2019 with 9.5 sacks showing he can be a good pass-rusher (along with his well-known run-stopping ability). He is versatile and has a pretty good floor. Minor character concerns exist which could see him fall but I expect him to go first round.

Draft Age

Weight

22.2

264 lbs

CB (#3)

College

Height

Ohio State

6'0"

30. Damon Arnette

Arnette has a good mix of skills that should translate to the next level. He's physical and can line up inside or outside. He has character issues which means he could being draft anywhere from the top 20 to maybe even the third round. Like Mathieu, if the character concerns are overcome, he will contribute.

Draft Age

Weight

23.7

195 lbs

OT (#5)

College

Height

USC

6'6"

31. Austin Jackson

Could sneak into the first round, Jackson is a great athlete with fluid feet and has good leverage. A raw player, his athleticism will not save his poor fundamentals in the NFL but, given time, has a good ceiling.

Draft Age

Weight

21.0

310 lbs

IDL (#4)

College

Height

Auburn

6'3"

32. Marlon Davidson

Davidson is a high floor player who had good 2019 numbers (7.5 sacks 49 tackles). He is a strong and smart player with good technique. Added weight holds back his quickness, limiting the variety of roles he can play at the NFL level.

Draft Age

Weight

22.0

297 lbs

IOL (#1)

College

Height

Michigan

6'4"

33. Cesar Ruiz

Ruiz is a tough, powerful player with plenty of experience as a 3 year staret at Michigan. Team needs to see him sneak into day 1 but I expect him to go second round. Ruiz is a well-balanced blocker with the size to play guard in addition to center. I see him as a safe bet with a high floor being a long-term starter in the league. He will have to improve some technique.

Draft Age

Weight

20.9

319 lbs

WR (#5)

College

Height

Colorado

6'2"

34. Laviska Shenault Jr.

Laviska is essentially a running back playing out wide. He's too quick for receivers and too big for defensive backs. His route running and catch ability need to be improved. He is a tough, physical receiver who doesn't rely on his strength as he can beat you with his quickness. Will likely go day 2 due to medical concerns.

Draft Age

Weight

220 lbs

OT (#6)

College

Height

Houston

6'5"

35. Josh Jones

Jones has good size and athleticism. Has some good technique but still needs to improve in some areas. His quickness comes at a cost of strength but I believe him to have a solid floor. A safe pick in my opinion.

Draft Age

Weight

22.9

311 lbs

QB (#4)

College

Height

Oregon

6'6"

36. Justin Herbert

Most of what one can describe about Justin Herbert is positive. His numbers were good, he's a big unit and has the arm and accuracy to succeed in the NFL. He looked good in the combine. For some reason I don't totally trust him. He had a great offensive line which he might not get in the NFL and he may lack leadership. I have him as my #4 QB as a ranking of ceiling which I do not think is extremely high (though his floor is solid).

Draft Age

Weight

22.1

227 lbs

IDL (#5)

College

Height

TCU

6'4"

37. Ross Blacklock

Blacklock has the size and power to make plays. He works hard and has the technique to beat a variety of blockers. I like him as a 3-4 DE to get the most out of him. Missing 2018 due to an achilles injury is the big concern. His ceiling will be reached by his ability to read plays given he already has tremendous power and physicality to excel at the next level.

Draft Age

Weight

21.8

305 lbs

CB (#4)

College

Height

Mississippi St

6'2"

38. Cameron Dantzler

Dantzler is a tall, physical player who is solid in coverage. He ran a slow 40 which potentially lowers his ceiling. I see him as the opposite of Diggs as he has better instincts but is not as good as an athlete - they're close but I'd rather someone who I know can get the job done.

Draft Age

Weight

21.7

185 lbs

EDGE (#5)

College

Height

Florida

6'4"

39. Jonathan Greenard

Greenard put up 9.5 sacks and 50 tackles with 3 FF in 2019. He consistently puts pressure on the QB and uses a wide variety of moves to do so. He could sneak into day 1 but medical concerns should cement him as a day 2 player.

CB (#5)

College

Height

LSU

40. Kristian Fulton

Fulton is a bit tough to judge - he has some really good tape where he prevents separation and stays with the receivers. Then at other times, he doesn't look like a top corner. If he can get healthy, I think he can be a solid corner but he may need some time (which a delayed season would allow for).

41. Shane Lemieux

I really like Lemieux and believe him to be underrated due to the hype around Penei Sewell. He has great hand power, raw strength and iq to tame most rusher moves. He is a stiff player that will need to be worked on however I believe him to be a high floor starter at IOL.

42. Julian Okwara

Okwara is a dangerous pass rusher who uses a mix of speed and power to put pressure on Quarterbacks. He is not the most consistent player with a lack of strength. He'll need to go to the right team to get the most out of him.

WR (#6)

CB (#6)

45. Trevon Diggs

Diggs is a raw player with good skills seeing some rate him as a top 20 player. He has the athletic ability to succeed in the NFL but he lacks as of now the defensive awareness which keeps him out of the top 40 for me.

Draft Age

46. Kyle Dugger

Dugger is a great talent with good athleticism and size for the next level. He has good burst in the open field giving him upside to the many parts of the game that need polishing. His biggest red flag comes from the fact that his competition was poor in the South Atlantic Conference. Like what I seen on tape though.

OT (#7)

47. Prince Tega Wanogho

Perhaps the best name in the draft, Wanogho is a very raw prospect who had shining moments in 2019 coupled with equally questionable ones. He has the skills to be a starting tackle in the NFL but I doubt he goes round 1. Low floor good ceiling prospect.

WR (#8)

48. Jalen Reagor

Deep threat with speed to burn. His 2019 stats were hurt by horrible QB play but, with a QB who can throw the deep ball, can be a real home-run player in the NFL.

RB (#3)

College

49. Clyde Edwards-Helaire

CEH is a short but tough runner who managed to stand out on tape (especially in the 'Bama game) despite all the talent on the field. He breaks tackles with ease and projects to put up big numbers receiving wise that could tend towards McCaffrey range. He doesn't really have many shortcomings (pun intended) to his game. He's not the fastest but still out ran some incredible athletes. He doesn't have a big track record of production which will likely see him fall. I see him as a guy who will split time with a veteran rb and then take over due to his great skills.

EDGE (#7)

50. Zack Baun

Baun put up 12.5 sacks and 76 tackles in 2019 proving himself a dangerous pass rusher at Wisconsin. Definition of 'competitive toughness' who does not give up. He pairs this with great football IQ. Naturally, the big knock on him is his length. He is the type of player that needs to go to the right team to succeed who will capitalise on his versatility and IQ.
